The Jacko Story
Jackson Surfboards was
founded in 1957 by Brian 'Jacko' Jackson. Created after years of exploring and discovering
surf along the east coast of Australia, Brian and some of his friends decided
manufacturing surfboards would be the ultimate compliment to a lifestyle immersed in
surfing and the beach. Today, Dave Mattison and Jim Parkinson carry on the Jackson
tradition and are proud to be associated with four decades of dedication and still provide
quality performance equipment for both expert and novice surfers.

Craftsmanship
The Jackson surfboard
is expertly shaped from high quality polyurethane ISP foam especially designed for the
surfing industry. This foam is unsurpassed in its combination of strength, durability,
lightness and flawless structure. The resultant shaped surboard is truly balanced and
designed for maximum versatility in regards to both speed and maneuverability. This is
possible only by the experienced surfer-craftsperson which we employ for this important
job.

Fibreglassing
The Jackson surfboard
is skillfully sprayed and then meticulously laminated under controlled conditions with
high strength fibreglass and roving rope re-inforcing along the stringer, using a light
stabilised polyester resin. The customer may also request roving rails or carbon fibre
reinforcement for extra durability under extreme conditions.

Fins
We believe in
versatility and choice, so we offer various fin arrangements using solid fibreglass or
glass filled polycarbonate fins and boxes for optimum high performance.

Quality Finish
The final preparation
sees the Jackson surfboard carefully sanded and then finished with either the traditional
gloss or lightweight mat pro-finish.

Research and
Development
New techniques,
materials and designs are constantly being developed and thoroughly tested thus ensuring
you the utmost in performance, beauty and strength. These are our trade marks. This
combination enables us to guarantee our customers lasting satisfaction from a truly hand
crafted product at an affordable price.
