I got my first Jackson surfboard back in 1977 and have been riding them ever since...thats more than 35 years ago. Over this period i have had countless boards ranging from 5'6 twin fins to 9'6 noseriders. I still have a waffa thin orange pigment 8 footer that Jim Parkinson shaped for me back in 1978. That board is in mint condition, I still ride it and is proof that Jackson boards are built tough and can last the distance.
I am not competing at the moment (my two children don't give me a chance) but I hope to do so again soon. A couple of my more memorable contest results were a win in a Noosa Longboard Comp in age division in classic first point waves and a 2nd place to Wayne Deane in the 35's division at Bells Beach a few years ago.
These days i am surfing local, combining my passion of photography with surfing and capturing the ride with a modified "go pro" camera.
