Jordy with his new Chief - Dec 17
Started Surfing: Can't really remember not surfing. Pretty young.
When did you start riding Jackson boards? I started riding Jackson surfboards around 10 years ago. I loved the very first board I ever received off them and never looked back.
Why you like them? Jim Parkinson - the shaper at Jacksons - always took the time to work out exactly what I wanted. All the boards he has made me over the years have given helped me get the most out of my surfing.
Boards I ride? Over the past four years I have mainly ridden the Chief model surfboard. My boards are generally 6'0 18 1/12 2 5/16 with approximately 26 litres of foam (refer to our article on Volume in the Article section). I ride this model board from when its flat to well overhead. I generally use the Mick Fanning Large FCS fins.
Contest Results? Four club championships with Cronulla Sharks Boardriders and winning the Sydney Festival of Surfing at Curl Curl.
giving the Chief some air time.
Favorite Surf Spots? My favourite surf spots around Cronulla are Greenhills, the Alley and Voodoo. My favourite places to surf overseas are Hawaii and Bali.
What is important to you? Just to be a good person. What goes around comes around.

Started surfing: I started when I was 9 yrs old
When did you start riding Jackson Boards: Started in 1990 with a square tail thruster that had a Potz spray (Flames) on the deck. I really like Jackson boards as they are quality built boards that work extremely well in all conditions. Also great with Jacksons is the team and product support, they are always willing to help and are ever so friendly. I have more boards in the Garage than I care to count! I think at last round I had over 25 which vary from single fins, big wave boards, soft tops, performance and a couple of Mals thrown in for good measure. I think its time to declutter the Garage! Im currently riding an E1 (named as an Ian Spencer board ha!) which is 5’9” x 19 1/8” x 2 1/16” rounded square tail with a minimal rocker. The fin set up is a quad and it goes like a rocket! I can surf this board from 1ft dribble to 8ft Point grinders, its such an awesome board.
